South through Sault Saint Marie
If you are coming this way, you can stop at the Visitor Information Centre, just across the border.
At the vistor information centre, you can:

  • Get a fishing licence
  • Exchance currency

From Sault Staint Marie, head North on highway 17 through Wawa to White River. A good place to stop and pick up your licenses is the Canadian Carver, about 45 mins north of the Sault. Turn North at White River onto highway 631 (just before the gas station and A&W).

Hornepayne is your last opportunity to pick up last minute or forgotten items. You can also obtain your fishing license at the G&L, located at the end of Front Street. The store opens at 8am.

► Please call from Hornepayne before heading out to the landing.

From Hornepayne, drive straight ahead where highway 631 turns at the Esso gas station. Continue following this road for 10 km (6 miles). Look for the yellow sign indicating a left at the beacon tower toward Oba. Continue down this road for about 20 minutes, to the Shekak bridge. Immediately after the bridge turn right into the landing area and await pickup.
